Supply List:
1. Bright and beautiful fabrics
2. Rotary cutter - 45mm recommended
3. cutting mat
4. acrylic rulers for cutting - 1"X12" for general cutting and 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" for squaring up the blocks
Yardage and Cutting: Based on 42"-wide fabric
- Fabric A: ¼ yard Cut four 2½" squares
- Fabric B: ⅛ yard Cut two strips 1½" x 42"
- Fabric C: ¼ yard Cut two strips 2½" x 42"
Construction:
Use a ¼" seam allowance throughout.Refer to the video course for additional help. You will be making four blocksat one time.
1. With right sides together, sew the four 2½" squares of Fabric Aonto a 1½" strip of Fabric B. Cut the four units apart and press the seamallowances in the direction of the Fabric B strips. The units should eachmeasure 2½" x 3½".
2. Sew each of these four units onto a Fabric B strip. Cut the units apartand press the seam allowances in the direction of the Fabric B strips. Theunits should each measure 3½" x 3½".
3. Sew each of these four units onto a Fabric C strip. Cut the units apartand press the seam allowances in the direction of the Fabric C strips. Theunits should each measure 3½" x 5½".
4. Sew each of these four units onto a Fabric C strip. Cut the units apartand press the seam allowances in the direction of the Fabric C strips. Theunits should each measure 5½" x 5½".
5. Sew each of these four units onto a Fabric B strip. Cut the units apartand press the seam allowances in the direction of the Fabric B strips. Theunits should each measure 5½" x 6½".
6. Sew each of these four units onto a Fabric B strip. Cut the units apartand press the seam allowances in the direction of the Fabric B strips. Thecompleted blocks should each measure 6½" x 6½".
